We have been keeping TheBubster home this week as she has been experiencing some symptoms of sickness and/or allergies; runny nose, a cough and some malaise. So its been alot of effort on my part watching the two kids and doing stuff around the house as well as studying. Must not forget the studying. Anyways, after getting the broken window in TheBubster’s room fixed today; big props to the wife for helping get that started; I set about rearranging my desk/studio space again. Each time I do this, I manage to hide more of the stuff we do not use on a very regular basis or ever, in more and more creative ways _and_ gain more floor space, this time was no different.
When engaged in this activity, the kid which makes the most noise will get the most of my attention, which naturally means that whenever Bud cries, he gets picked up and fed and/or changed into a dry nappy. Then he get set back into his Bumbo seat to play with his toys. Meanwhile, the other one, the one who has already learned that silence as an Operating Procedure allows one pretty much free reign to lots of creative fun, is doing exactly that. So when I noticed her standing on the dirty clothes basket in front of the mirror with a furniture blemish concealing marker in her hand, she already looked like a M?ori tribeswoman. Without screaming or making a big deal; I sort of chuckled actually; I asked for the texter back and the lid for it as well and let her find a new amusement. I knew that her time would come in the bathtub for it is only in the bathtub, where children already can not stand to be washed anyways, that scrubbing the ink off her face would serve as a reminder of the fun she had and would serve as her reward for the creativity.
I could have left the ink on her face for a couple of days, but she cleaned her arms and chest off so there was no cohesive design in allowing it to remain on her face.

with her new puppies, Gracie and Emily. We all drove out along Cape Cod to make the most of the first beautiful weather of the season.
We stopped near Hyannis, where the beach was still mighty chilly. We had an early lunch. Daughter wailed about getting some Russian dolls, then fell asleep until we arrived at Provincetown. We walked along the beach, dreamed of living in one of the romantically ramshackle houses, walked through town, had ice cream, and set off back home. We stopped at Nautica Light Beach where Daughter got some lessons in flips and cartwheels from some big girls, and we collected stones.
We drove home to have some fantastic pizza from our local pizzeria. What a wonderful day. It’s nice to be a New Englander.

Here is our young master showing pride for The Birds and that is the Green Monster behind him. I talked TheWife into letting us take her place at the first company attendance at Fenway this year, specifically because it was an O’s game. Unfortunately, our time got completely shellacked (12 to 1!!!). There was also a marathon underfoot today and that wrapped up traffic in a Gordian Knot, so we just walked home afterwards.
TheBubster had her first birthday party, not her First Birthday but her first party for her birthday. She turned four the previous week, but we waited until after Easter was finished in order to accommodate our guests; of course we were not aware of any actual scheduling conflicts, we just did it that way. Hey! It’s our lives, we can do it that way if we like!
Anywho, she had three little friends over. One girl from the neighborhood, one girl we had meet at the Mall, and a boy from school. The boy is South African and speaks Afrikaans with his mother. The girl from the Mall is from Japan and speaks Japanese with her parents. The girl from the neighborhood is from Brooklyn and speaks Brooklynese with everybody, actually she has lived here nearly her whole life like TheBubster so they both have civilized quite well for a pair of four year olds! Needless to say, we have quite the international demographic around here.
I am getting quite excited about the release of my Album on the 25th of this month and I am working together with a couple new musicians up here getting ready to form a band. Hey, now isn’t that nice! Fun stuff for sure, anyways now I’m going to push publish on this article

Holiday Monday. Patriots’ Day. I’m not sure if that is why I have been given the day off, or because it’s the Boston Marathon or because our office building is closed.
Anyway, since we’ve been living here, history has been resonating in my head. And I needed to know more. So I have started listening to a podcast: an overview of American History before 1870.
I am up to where the Nationalists have rewritten the Articles of Federation, because Congress had no power to do anything, no one could trade with foreign powers, and everyone was going broke. So we’ve written some amendments, and we’re about to vote on this new constitution. Ooh what will happen next?!
Anyway, I found out that Patriots’ Day is a commemoration of the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the first battles of the American Revolutionary War. Which, I have learned, was in fact a civil war, but if we had marketed it as a civil war, the French would not have been as forthcoming with their vital help.
Yay French - I think we are friends again, since this whole Somali pirate thing. Not that I have ever really had a problem with the French, myself. Although, the whole place is rather bourgeois, when you get right down to it, probably because they try so hard not to be.
Anyway, this first battle is something I remember from my podcast.
One of my mentors lives in Lexington, and that helped me solidify the story in my head, as I retold it to her. Apparently, General/Governor Gage was tipped off as to a stache of guns that the rebels had in Concord. So off he goes. But by the time he gets there, they have been moved, so he heads back. Around Lexington, the rebels start shooting at him. Bingo. Now we have two sides. Start of a war.
Re-enactments of these first battles of the American Revolution occur annually at Lexington Green in Lexington. It’s meant to be fun. Maybe one day we’ll go. Maybe even Monday! In the morning, a mounted reenactor with State Police escort retraces Paul Revere’s ride, calling out warnings the whole way.
There was no mention of Paul revere in my podcast, so I’ll have to read more about what actually happened there. I know the legend is inaccurate. A guy in costume told me once, and I take that seriously.

i might actually write more.
everyone is settled into our roles around here. TheBubster is turning four today. Yesterday, she and I went to see TheDentist and got our teeth cleaned, well she did, my cleaning will take a lot more effort. TheWife is working like a busy beaver, she’s had a headache the past day, maybe she has a cold or something that has been handed to her from our preschooler. For the birthday, we are having a party here next weekend.
and finally, Little Bud is growing like a weed. He is so happy in the mornings and is such a laid back little boy, unless of course his nappy is wet and he does not have a fresh container of the finest breast milk, other than that, very very laid back; just wants to be held. anyways, i’m tired and i have some music jamming to do tomorrow afternoon as well as some more homework. just wanted to throw a couple of lines out there.
