Where the Love is at!

First Snow in Mass

Yay! It snowed last yesterday, not a whole bunch just a few inches, but the sidewalks were covered when we woke up. It was also nice a chilly when we headed out the door to church. We have started shopping around for a new church to attend up here. So we walked to one nearby, it was in a nice building and had an interesting children’s service and class. We actually stayed with TheBubster through this, then we went upstairs and rejoined the service for communion. Since, we all got really really hungry at the same time, we slipped out the back and headed to a nearby diner.

After we fueled, we took the T, that’s what everyone calls the subway system, to the Boston Commons, or The Commons. EJ rans around in the snow, got into other people’s photos, and finally ended up with us on a frozen pond covered in snow. That was my first time skating on natural ice, and with a layer of snow on it, there was something really neat about it. EJ had fun just lying on the ground for a while and then she helped me shovel the snow, some guy showed up looking to play some hockey and had a shovel. Then she and Steph wandered off chasing a dog that was running around on the ice.

When we headed bac, EJ was wet and tired and fell asleep in my arms on the T. Another perfect outing by the Eckenrode Family.

  • It sounds really romantic. You must have had a great time then.
  • Yeah we did. Thanx.
  • Skiing truly is a better option anyday!
  • I just can't imagine skating on natural ice. I have to start learning ice skating and get that experience.
  • Skating on real ice is way different from ice skating. It's of course safer to skate in outdoor parks that are frozen. Never skate on the frozen lake.
  • naturally, if you are in a place where the temperature stays beneath the freezing point of water all winter long then there is less cause to worry, furthermore the lake we skated on was only 2.5 feet deep mst of it freezes during the winter and the entire city uses it to play hockey on.
  • trust me you dont want that. I almost broke my neck
  • Sounds really scary. I have to think twice now. Maybe skiing is a better option.
  • Skiing is always awesome and surely a better option!
  • unless of course you are Natasha Richardson
  • Children really loves snow because they an do what they want and they enjoy playing on snow. Skiing is the greatest and enjoyable games on snow ever.
