House on Red Corner

Where the Love is at!

A quick graphic to look at.

Where do you fall into this? How many people do you think actually fall into each category?

If you want more in depth discussion about this, read this article.

“It’s just flat wrong” to say people would do worse under Obama, says Burman. “Most lower- and middle-class people would pay less taxes under Obama than they would under the proposals being put forth by McCain.”

and another quote from the article

By contrast, even using the more favorable comparison, McCain’s proposed tax changes would still leave the Treasury coming up short. According to the study, McCain’s combined proposals would slash tax revenues by an estimated $253 billion over the 10-year period compared with what would come in under current tax policy.

  • I'm so glad that Obama won. With 250K people out of job in Oct 08, Ohbama is in for a ride. All we can do is to pray. I believe Obama is the right person to pull US out of this shit caused by the Goofy Bush Administration.
  • I also believe that Obama will make many good progress in the world.
  • Would be interesting to know...Do you still believe that Obama can make the world better?!
  • yes.
  • Joe the plumber's not even a licensed plumber. Worse he don't even make 250K. I was suspecting that Joe was sent by the Republican's to stir up Obama's campaign. Anybody earning less than 250K would get less taxes. Why are the American people hoodwinked?
  • I feel kind of lost that Obama is getting Lobbyist into his movement when he says that he will throw out the old ways of Washington.
  • Maybe Obama is just one of them and another puppet of the Illuminati.
  • Illuminati? <choke---spits coffee out> are you serious?
  • This might make you think twice.

  • Thanks for the link however i am of the firm mind that Occam's Razor is applicable here and that everything is exactly as it seems. The alternative universe which is strictly inhabited by conspiratory theorists is entirely too whacky, I prefer to deal with reality as it presents itself to the common majority.

  • Now there are news from the Obama camp that they might not raise taxes on those earning more than 250K. Is it not right to increase taxes during an Economic turmoil? If they don't I doubt they will be able to raise money for the 700 Billion Bailout plan for the Automotive & Banking industry.
  • I think you are all wrong. Obama is not a puppet of the Illuminati - the real conspiracy is far more sinister. Obama is really Bigfoot and is working for aliens from the Crab Nebula, who are under the direct control of Elvis, who is broadcasting mind-control waves from Atlantis, which lies far beneath the Bermuda Triangle. It was they (with assistance from the Loch Ness Monster) who assassinated JFK and ate his brain... with a light mango chutney sauce. Mmmmmn... brains... mmmmn.

GM is going down. What about the help that Obama promised the automotive industry?
  • First, obama is not the president yet. Second, the Congress holds the purse so if they vote down the package then there is no aid.

  • Why is Robert Gates in Obama's administration. That's not change.
  • the actual change that Obama is referring to is a change in attitudes. He is not going to dividing the country into Red or Blue, Black or White, rather serving Americans. Robert Gates, despite being appointed by G. W. Bush, is not doing a bad job as the Secretary of Defense. In fact, despite serving the current President, he seems to be doing a good job of managing the Defense Department and is making speeches which advocate for more funding and support to be put into the State Department so that our Foreign Policy is not left to the military, which is rather against the Bush Doctrine and ideology. I think it is a bigger change to carry over some people from the previous Administration than it is to make appointments for every position, which is the norm.
